About Us

UBC Health Clinic is a dedicated family practice teaching clinic which provides full service primary care to over 7000 patients in our community of all ages.  We provide care in the clinic, by phone, video, home visits, at one long term care home, in two outreach clinics and BC Women’s hospital for obstetrical care.  Our care providers include family physicians, psychiatrists, a pediatrician and internal medicine specialists. We supervise and teach over 30 learners yearly in the clinic. Our learners are family medicine residents, other specialty residents, medical students and nurse practitioner students. Our learners also have learning experiences alongside UBC’s social work and physical therapy students. During non clinic hours, we provide on-call care for our registered patients. We work collaboratively with UBCIT to optimize electronic records with the highest standard of security and efficiency.

“This model provides an opportunity to explore different ways of both teaching and research, while being completely focused on service to patients. It also honours the enduring relationship between caregiver and patient that lie at the core of family practice,” Dr.Robert Woollard, professor of Department of Family Practice.
